Anyone remember that Edwards said "bring it on" first?

Not a criticism of Kerry - it's a great line. Too bad Edwards didn't keep saying after he first used it back last February and, thus, claim it as his.

Oh, well - you move, you lose.

1. He said it before Bush? eom

3. Yes. Edwards said it when he filed with FEC and the GOP released that

talking points memo on him a year ago (if memory serves).

Bush said it over the summer when he begged Iraqis to attack American soldiers.

2. I remember. Last January? And then the media ignored him all year.

So he had to stop saying it. But now they're going to have to bring it on, becuase he's a serious threat, which they knew last January.

5. It would have been wrong to use it so close in time to when Bush did

Edwards said it back in January to taunt Bush. Bush said it in the summer to taunt the Iraqi insurgents who are killing our troops.

It was smart for no one to use the term for awhile after that since so many people associated Bush's reckless language with the death of the troops. After some time had passed, it made sense to resurrect it and Kerry got to it first.

4. As Dean is discovering on the Iraq issue, voters don't care

who said what first.

just making a funny observation. At least I thought it was funny.

7. At the Edwards blog they've had a regular feature: The Planburglar.

When people copy things Edwards has said, you add them to the planburglar list. I think they gave a T-shirt to the person who found the funniest planburgling.

8. It was Edwards' reply to the attacks on his being a trial lawyer.

He said, if George Bush wants to talk about how I fought against big corporations, how I fought for people who had been harmed by their negligence - if he wants that fight, I say: bring it on!
