Caller on C-SPAN says Frist is the "most dangerous man in America."
They are discussing the God Rally - some good calls coming in.

I'm so sorry that Frist is my senator. I interviewed him when I was a reporter - and a staunch moderate - and even then, in the 1990s when he was first running against Jim Sasser, I was asked my personal opinion of him by my editor. I said, "He's the anti-Christ."
My editor, with whom I'm still friends, told me about two weeks ago he should have heeded my word: I was correct.

1. I honestly believe...swear to God, no sarcasm...
...Frist is mentally unstable. And as a result, an unstable guy with power IS dangerous. Just look at our current alcoholic / substance-abusing, Oedipal "President."

2. I think folks should campaign against Frist with their cats
That would be cute - and would get the attention of the press.
People could walk around with leaflets quoting Frist's own words about killing cats because he was "losing it" (or whatever it was he said).
I dare say that I think there are more cat lovers than wing-nuts in this country. :)

3. If Frist gets on the ticket, I predict a LOT of cats in the news.
Cats are Frist's Swift Boat downfall.

It's not EVERYTHING that's wrong with him...but it will do nicely. I am surprised by the number of DU posters who ask "What is the deal with Frist and cats?" Imagine how many "Joe Lunchpail," middle-American, God-fearin' Fundamentalists are unfamiliar with the Senator's dirty laundry.

7. Off subject but as a Rottie mom, I just have to say
That was one sweet looking Rottie. I lost one in Janurary of this year. His name was Jack and was the sweetest, biggest baby. They are sweet dogs, aren't they? We adopted a female froma Rottie rescue organization and she is doing well. We just could not live without Rottie love in the house.

9. He wasn't a Rottie.
:)

He was a Lab/Blue Tick hound mix. But, I picked him because he LOOKED like a Rottie and would be useful to be both a play dog for my son and still fool the would-be criminals who ever cased my house.

I'm jobless and looking right now - but, the minute I find something permanent, I plan to adopt another dog. I have a 13-year-old cocker who's in great shape for his age, but he just wears out too quickly to play with my 5-year-old son (who is really missing his doggie).

I had to have Blue put down Saturday because of a congenital disease of the esophogus that was causing him to mis-inhale food. He was literally dying of starvation and pnuemonia. :( There is no cure for this disease and I couldn't allow him to suffer any longer. It was a hard decision, but one I can't regret.

It's really something how completely part of the family they become. How long did you have him?

12. Aww, I am so sorry to hear that.
My boy had a blood disease. He was only 3 1/2 years old.
You could have fooled me. I really thought it was a Rottie. Looks like my female Rottie. Her head is similar. My boy had more of a "blockhead"--very square. So sorry again for you loss. Its very hard to lose them especially when they have not lived out their normal lifespans.

13. So Sorry about Blue . . .
Tough decision, but you did what was best for him. You will be rewarded with the greatest, sweetest puppy in the world when you can afford to adopt.

BTW, what exactly IS it about Frist and cats? What did he do (or was alleged to have done)?

17. Good to know -- I guess -- gaack
Kinda makes you wonder what kind of "heart" the aliens implanted into Frist while they were training him aboard the mother ship. Pass it along.
