Zogby on Bush
Edited on Sat Apr-23-05 06:06 PM by kansasblue
"We're in the lame-duck period," said John Zogby, an independent pollster. "Each day that passes, the duck gets lamer. The window (of opportunity) has passed. If he wasn't able to come off the voting (in Iraq) and turn it into more of a popular mandate, I don't know what he can do."

up a bit of optimism with regard to all of the "they'll enact a coup to remove Bush before he can pull the Iran stunt" stuff on the boards lately. Stop egging him on!!! They don't like humiliation! To them it equals loss of image-based power! Right now, that could spell doom. I've like Zogby's attempts to keep from getting sucked into this whole partisan tug of war, but I think his resistance has made him a bit dense. John? If you have to ask, you don't know and you don't WANT to know.

2. Toast..
there's never been a more destructive President, now in his second term he'll be the most inefficient. 3+ years of a lame duck chimp, wonderful. :eyes:

5. Ooh, goody.
If the duck's getting lamer every day, where are we gonna be in 3.5 years?

It's like a math problem or something.

6. 45% approval ratings
He didn't get 50.8% of the vote 5.5 months ago. No way. These lousy numbers are another reflection of a stolen election.

13.  I wouldn't call him a lame duck yet, until we retake the senate in 2006.
Until then, I'm sure there's plenty left that he can manage to either destroy or damage.

9. If Bush's numbers got way low, I wonder if there is a chance he might
"retire for health reasons."

Of course we'd be worse off than before - Cheney

14.  I would rather have cheney in office...he's dangerous but not off his
rocker like bush is. I think that although cheney pulls a lot of puppet strings, there's quite a lot that dubya is responsible for himself, like promoting the FMA and so forth.

language like bush. He comes across as a mean old man, and puppet master.

could there be a better time for a terrorist attack? We've had a coup--these guys are not going to go away ever--and the democrats are content with jockey for political positions. No ones fighting this in any real way except the little guys like you and I. one visit to a nuclear facility from an unfriendly and all this work is for nothing.

The democrats should be talking about their return to power even in the face of another terrorist strike. "Are we really safe under Bush? Can he prevent future attacks? Maybe the Dems are better at protecting us from terror. . .etc."
