Rasmussen Poll: Bush Job Approval Drops 7 Points In 3 Days
April 20: 52% Approve 48% Disapprove
April 22: 45% Approve 53% Disapprove

Who would have thought that the "nuclear option" would have inadvertantly been set off in the Oval Office?

1. The Bankruptcy Bill?
Maybe that's what did it.

7. I think the UofM consumer sentiment numbers dropped a lot...
....and my guess that Bush's approval numbers are tied up in how people feel about the economy, and that a lot of people connected their personal finances to the bankruptcy bill and are feeling that Republicans aren't on their side.

Didn't Bush sat yesterday that the bankruptcy bill is supposed to help people get credit? Did I hear him say that before the bill, cheaters prevented credit card companies from extending as much credit as they can now?

He's trying to spin the bill.

But how many people believe that their problem is that they couldn't get enough credit? Five offers a day in the mail and credit card debt up to your forehead? What planet is Bush living on?

2. I seriously doubt that the "nuclear option"
has much to do with it. I don't see that on the radar with the masses. More likely discontent with Iraq and gas prices would be my guess.

3. So what do you suppose his real job disapproval rating is?
I am sure these numbers are pumped up. It would be nice to know the truth once.

5. Good question.
Most major polls weight with 38-39% Repukes, 38% Indies, and 34% Dems.

12. Yep. And because of that, everything else is going up
Nothing like high prices at the pump to hurt your popularity. Americans are really feeling it in the wallet right now.

9. These polls are only a diversion...
Tomorrow they may be back up by seven points...I have a tough time giving any of them any credibility.

10. A Pleasant Diversion, Though...
That the con leaning Rasmussen Poll has seen the need to report numbers as bad as these about Der Shrubbins is a good thing in my book. You can only wonder what the next round from the more mainstream polling organizations will report. Maybe Raz is getting a bit more in line with reality because of this?
