Bolton nomination
Goddess40's mom here. I just called Sen. Chaffee's office to tell him I am definately against Bolton's nomination as he has no respect for the UN. I believe Chafee is the chairman of the nomination committee and recently has been wavering on support of Bolton. I talked to a very nice staff member in his office and she thanked me for calling and told me they are keeping a running tab on this. The number is 202-224-2921.

It looks like Chafee is our only hope.

3. I understand Bush's support of Bolton.
There are things at the UN that need to be fixed badly. Like them having weapons intelligence that is correct and accurate even if a few things are unaccounted for. You see if no ones intelligence is correct or accurate. Then we can claim to have had the best intelligence available.....from a drunken pathological liar. So the quickest and easiest way to restore America's intelligence machine to the best on earth is to break the UN's intelligence machine. Cheney and Rumsfeld probably have some monkey wrench's left over from their trip to CIA Headquarters that they could give to Bolton to throw into the UN gears.

4. Excellent analysis
There are indeed serious problems attached to the UN's weapons intelligence, in that it is to accurate and, well, not just political spin...

6. Absolutely!
Because, you know, the UN folks said Iraq had WMDs and - guess what?? They didn't!!! The US was right all along! The UN is incompentent!

Oh - wait - that's not right, is it? Dang ... So painful when the facts don't fit your preconceived ideology....

8. Didn't the UN weapons inspectors say there were no WMD?
The only intelligence that were bad were
the Cheney/Rummy concoctions put together
in the Office of Special Plans and their
thinking it wouldn't be

I frankly would like the UN to stay somewhat
independent from the Bushies.

But I'm from Baltimore the home of sarcasm. New Yorkers are rude and Baltimoreans are sarcastic. But the good news is that Bush only lied about the most important and serious part of his job. Now if Bush had lied about something in his personal private life. Oh boy would he really be in big trouble then! I guess the disparity between Clinton's lie and Bush's endless parade of lies is ultimately proof that the Republicans feel it's thier job to lie to America.

12. Frankly
I would like to see the UN enforce international law. I'm hoping that they are waiting for a Democrat to take office before issuing the international arrest warrants for Bush & Co. But they do have the rest of Bush's life in which they may issue the warrants. Do you think anyone will give a crap about Bush in 10 - 20 Years? That is if we don't put him on trial first under the war crimes act.
I would be quizing Bolton on international law real hard. If he thinks he's going to walk into the UN and pick on the redneck games Bush had Powell playing with the UN. He is sadly mistaken. They will take that arrogant crap once but not twice. I really thought they were going to do an Iraq II on N. Korea. After months of demanding that N. Korea shut down their nuclear reactor. B. Korea shut down their nuclear reactor and the Bushies fliped out ala Iraq.

7. Great job, goddess40. This Californian also called Chafee's office
and said much the same thing. I said "I do NOT want THAT as MY face and MY voice, speaking and acting for ME to the world at the UN. If I were an employee in an office where he was hiring in, I'd resign."

Everybody, call in:

www.senate.gov - for his local/regional numbers if you can't get through in DC. He needs calcium supplement for his spine. ALSO, he and other republi-CONS need to see evidence that the momentum is going the other way. The whores among them (not necessarily saying Chafee is one, all the time) will go whichever way they think the wind is blowing - so it's VITALLY important that they have at least the PERCEPTION that the wind is blowing against bolton.
