For weeks the website Daily Howler has been critiquing the liberal spokesmen. Some may say the website has been a little harsh on some of the spokesmen. However, what should liberals/Democrats do about our spokesmen? How can we help them to be more informed about the bias debate. There have been a few times where some of them could have talked about how the media attacked Clinton and Gore using some of the same tactics being criticized today. As Daily Howler pointed out many news organizations used false information during the Clinton years and no one was fired. At times it was more obvious that the evidence used against Clinton was false than in the case of Bush. In addition, many news organizations were willing to use false information or repeat false things when Gore ran for president. Once again as Daily Howler noted no one was fired. So how do we get our spokesmen to say things like this on TV shows? Do we write them and give them the information just in case they do not have it? Do we write to the shows these people go on and ask the shows to have other specific people who seem to do a better job on these shows? Do we take in upon ourselves and just write letters to the editors of our local papers pointing out what happened to Clinton and Gore?
comments like: TNR simply crawls with fiery liberals remind me that he and I don't exactly inhabit the same political universe sometimes.
So how do we get our spokesmen to say things like this on TV shows?
Never forget: those TV shows are produced by corporations for the benefit of those corporations. No one who speaks the blunt truth on those shows will ever be accorded an opportunity to speak again.
Do we take in upon ourselves and just write letters to the editors of our local papers pointing out what happened to Clinton and Gore?
We must take it upon ourselves in all things... the corporate media is our enemy.
