Debbie Wasserman Schultz is amazing at the dem press conference...
very articulate. Just pointed out that in her own extended family they had to make the same decision just five weeks ago... and that noone in the family, involved in that decision, asked her to file a motion before congress to stop it. She said more - and it was powerful.

Earlier she mentioned the Texas case, and that bush signed that into law - and the contradiction of that decision/action to bush's words today.

I hadn't heard of her before - but she was convincing. Anyone know anything about her? She is a dem representative from Florida.

3. I thought that she was very impressive during a Soc. Sec.
presentation that she and Kendrick Meeks did about a week ago, too. I wouldn't know what it's like to have a representative like that.

4. she's great
a couple of times in the past few weeks I came home at around 10pm, turned to C-span, and caught Wasserman and another FL dem, Kendrick Meek, giving speeches on the House floor, about Social Security.

They were great, both very young (they were talking about something Pelosi put together called "30-something dems"), and very smart.

Wasserman made reference to a quote by Greenspan that says a lot, but which I hadn't heard before she brought it up. Greenspan was asked at a hearing, if he were in Congress in 1935, would he have voted to establish Social Security? His answer was "I don't know."

7. Very smart lady
to put up that angle - esp when he is seen as an expert worth listening to on the issue.

She seems to have an exceptionally good grasp of policy issues. Gives me hope for the future of the party - hopefully there are others like her and more in the pipeline.

6. I never heard of her
before this either. But I sure hope that she makes it to part of the leadership. She is really good. Articulate, knows her facts. Senator some day? That's the kind of person we need to run.
