Janet Reno Former US Attorney General
Ann Coulter Author, Columnist & Political Commentator
Thursday, Mar. 10, 2005, 8 PM, Alumni Arena
Lecture Sponsor: UB Office of Special Events

Appointed under the Clinton administration, Janet Reno became the first woman Attorney General of the United States. Overseeing the Justice Department, Reno enforced federal policies on civil rights, the environment, gun control and immigration. As Attorney General, Reno faced difficult challenges including the Branch Davidian standoff and the Elian Gonzales case. During her time in office, crime and drug-use rates in the U.S. declined. She was and continues to be a strong advocate of children's and women's rights.

Prior to becoming Attorney General, Reno received her JD from Harvard Law School. She went on to become Staff Director of the Judiciary Committee of the Florida House of Representatives and later, State Attorney for Dade County. Reno has received many proud honors including induction into the National Women's Hall of Fame.

1. Can't wait to hear someone check in on this.
I'm surprised Coulter would agree to a debate.

3. I was surprised Coulter was invited, this
being touted as 'distinguished' speakers by the univ. I don't think she falls into that category. :eyes:

4. I'd like to
see AC as an "extinguished" speaker..

But seriously, she can't debate her way out of a paper bag. She just goes into her rant/talking points without actually listening to or coherently responding to the question posed or the issue at hand.

I saw her on Maher get completely baffled and then of course the famous Hannity and Colmes clip where she reacts in stunned silence and then resumes her pointless tirade without responding to the question. She is not a debater or an intellect. She is a shock jock media whore.
