AFL-CIO planning massive layoffs
Edited on Thu Mar-10-05 04:23 PM by funkybutt
I heard this from a reliable source

will be at least 20% of workers which would be about 100 workers but it could be as many as 250 workers which would be about 50% of the workforce. Board members feeling AFL not running lean enough.AFL-CIO runs on dues money from union members.

timeframe expected to be 3-4 months to respect the bargaining agreement terms of the 90 day notice.

1. Last I heard, some wanted to return half of dues to locals
for additional organizing efforts. For some reason, this didn't pass, and nearly caused a schism in the leadership.
