Bush at it again - Taxpayer funded propaganda - SS War Room to sell policy
Somebody please call the GAO. Bush is at it again, using taxpayer dollars to fund partisan propaganda.

Bush Sets Up Social Security 'War Room'

excerpt

WASHINGTON - A new Social Security (news - web sites) war room inside the Treasury Department (news - web sites) is pumping out information to sell President Bush (news - web sites)'s plan, much like any political campaign might do. It's part of a coordinated effort by the Bush administration.

The internal, taxpayer-funded campaigning is backed up by television advertisements, grass-roots organizing and lobbying from business and other groups that support the Bush plan. The president's opponents are organized too, though they do not enjoy the resources of the White House or Treasury to sell their message.

3. No. Taxpayer-funded, government-sponsored, deceptive propaganda,...
,...IS a fucking outrage!!!!

In my personal view, such abuse of power represents a breach of oath and advances a form of totalitarianism,...it's ANTI-DEMOCRACY.

4. Last year, the GAO reprimanded Bush for doing this
he used taxpayer money to produce a fake news segment, using a actress playing a reporter, with fake interviews with old people praising his Medicare drug plan. He released this fake piece as if it were a news segment, and it was aired as such on many network affiliate stations.

The GAO ruled that this violated anti-propaganda laws, and Bush was reprimanded.

I hope he gets a harsher penalty since this will not be his first offence.

5. He also did it through the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
And I think the GAO is investigating a third occurrence on some other issue.

6. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the perpetual campaign. The perpetual campaign
to create the truth. Another fine tool of the sociopath brought to you by Karl Rove & his kind.

This long advertisement started when Bush found god and ran for governor... and will end sometime in 2062.

:grr:
