1. I don't know. I just turned them off, they were annoying.
If that guy said liberal media one more time I think my head was going to explode. Typical Mary Ellen is much more soothing and then I can watch a quilting show.
it used to be just reich-wing fridays. Now the whole fucking week is filled with RW loonies fron AEI and the Heritage foundation, focus on the family. You name it, if there is a fundie loon, Brian will have them on. So sad...
3. Oliver Willis is holding his own on Wash. Journal
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 08:31 AM by CottonBear
He dismissed the idea of the "liberal media." "Brit Hume: fact that he distorted facts/quotes about FDR and brought up point that no video or transcripts of alleged Jordan comments exist..."
The RW callers are turning against McCain.
Oliver mentioned that he trusts certain bloggers more than others. This made me think of Plaid Adders Ethos vs Blogos article.
Now Willis is discussing the Gannon story and the fact that more Gannons are out there. RW blogger is sort of defending Gannon in a round-about way i.e. defending all internet journalists.
We are the staff that needs to keep writing letters (to our senators and reps, letters to the editor), calling in to talk shows, putting the "facts" out there every day.
7. The "callers" get to me. Anyone remember when they had two people
on to discuss an issue? I remember Eric Alterman going at Christopher Hitchens a few times. They would have folks from opposite sides on and each would answer a caller's question so the caller's didn't dominate and you got to hear both sides.
When Chimp came in they stopped that. Or, maybe it was during Monica with Clinton. But it was never the same after that. The RW Callers got loonier and the guests were stacked from the RW Think Tanks.
I don't know about Brian. C-Span only exists because Congress forced the FCC to have the Cables to provide a "Public Interest Channel." Since we've seen the politics of AOL/Time Warner and Disney be more involved in the programming I guess they forced Brian to go to "Fox Lite." Fortunatly the Book Reviews and the House and Senate Hearings are still there and they cover all the Think Tank Meetings and discussions we wouldn't hear anywhere else. But, it's sad about Washington Journal. It just seems to be a voice for "wing nuts" to blather on about how great Bush is and spew hate about Dems..
