How many more people have to die in Bush's war before anyone gives a damn
? How many more parents have to see their children come home scarred, burned, and maimed and wonder what the hell for? How many children will never see their fathers again? How many will never see them a first time? How many broken families will try to pull themselves together when one of their loved ones is blown to bits? How many will rationalize that they died so the Iraqis could be "free"? How much longer must this continue before people say "Stop!"?

2. Wait 'til "we" attack Iran....
Then the war madness will start all over again. The people will be driven into a war-mode that will once again take over their cognitive senses.

Then there will be another attack on "The Homeland." Then the promise of America will be over.

3. Not to mention all of the Iraqi civilians
that have lost their lives. It's sickening. None of it even remotely gets covered in our "media" people are so sheltered right now by the brutality of this war because we aren't seeing the full reality.

4. It is more likely a matter of time than it is numbers
In Vietnam they had to keep dying for years. I don't think it was the numbers as much as the impression that it would never end that turned the corner.

I think that many people already give a damn. The level of effort people put into deposing Bush was stunning. It does not appear to have been enough, but I would bet you could get a fairly good number of the same people out in the streets for a rally.

10. It will take more. A lot more. Tragically, brutally horribly more.

Vanity is a powerful anesthetic, and the wingnuts are filled to the brim with it.

12. Serious estimate - i'd say at least 4 more years. If there has
been no improvement in our position in Iraq and the deficit has continued to soar, people may start having second thoughts by the end of Bush's second fraudulent term.
