Where is the GLBT MLK?
Find that person, and equal rights will be a reality. That person becomes the face of gay rights, and a face is a human being. Right now, gay America has no face, and it's easy to deny a faceless entity its rights.

MLK stood up, and for the country to continue with Jim Crow, it would have had to tell this person, this human being, "No, we're going to keep treating you like a second class citizen." People won't do that. But to a caricature, a "fairy," a Karl Rove-created boogieman, yeah, they will have no problems thinking of ways to exploit you, to keep you in that "other" class of people to whom it's so easy to say, "no."
