Ted Kennedy on election night
Why did he have to go on CNN and without being asked start telling everyone what would Kerry do now that he won the election.

At that time polls were still open in Iowa, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado.

We lost New Mexico by 10,800 votes
We lost Nevada by 21,000 votes
We lost Colorado by 120,000 votes (not final - 95% of the precincts)
Iowa results are still not tallied but we are losing by 13,000 votes.

He might have costed Kerry votes in these states. Why he had to do it?

1. could it b that he was sure they were gonna win?

i mean look at the last few days leading up to the election:

* Bush team told NBC that they were going to make up losing OH with WI, IA, etc
* Kerry and Dems seemed confident
* Exit polls showing Kerry up
* When informed of the exit numbers, Bush team didn't really act suprised.
* Reports of record turnout everywhere. Where I was (NoVA) I overheard some poll worker saying its the most he has seen in 20 years.

And then, OH and FL just go to the Republicans, and that too by 2-5%???????

2. That's why we must demand that all the votes are counted
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 08:03 AM by DoYouEverWonder
Bush is not president until the Electoral College votes. A lot can happen between now and then but nothing will happen unless we demand it.

COUNT ALL THE VOTES. That's all we are asking.

If Bush is still the clear winner then fine. That is what the American people decided and we will get whatever we deserve has a result. But I want them to prove to me that all the votes are counted and that the counts are valid.

3. that was the plan for both sides
to project a feeling of victory in case it was really close. That brings the western voters out to the polls, not someone who is looking glum and close to defeat.
