I said goodbye to MSNBC
I couldn't sleep so I got up and checked MSNBC's webpage to see how it was going. I didn't feel like turning on the TV. I was astonished at what I saw. Here's my letter to MSNBC :(

Looking at your site at the electoral map I realized people I have talked to are right. I stayed in denial and defended the entire MSNBC organization. I proclaimed MSNBC to be the height of fairness and impartiality. I could never be so wrong.

Has it been so long a night? Did someone fall asleep behind their computer? No, I think not. When most every other news organization has called N.H for Kerry, you have not. When every other news organization has refrained from calling Ohio in either candidate’s favor, you have not. When every other news organization has called Wisconsin in Kerry’s favor you still have not.

One would assume it was to be last and right rather than first and wrong, but that is not the case. You were first in line to call many other states even amid the confusion which still reigns.

I have watched MSNBC faithfully for many years. I believed in MSNBC and its objectivity. I am sad to say your objectivity is blurred by the corporate lines which have leaned to the right more than to the people as it was meant to. The fairness in reporting the news has been one-sided and I am dismayed to find myself finally believing it to be so.

As of now, I am no longer a faithful viewer. It’s a sad decision I make because there still remain anchors I greatly admire, but this type of reporting is not something I can no longer deny. I will miss shows like Countdown and Hardball and I am equally sure you will not miss me.

Goodbye MSNBC. Maybe someday you will find your objectivity and your duty to your viewers.
