Gallup undersamples Dems by 4%, oversamples Repugs by 5%, for 9point swing

When compared to the 2000 exit poll results, Gallup {is} undersampl{ing} Democrats by 4% and oversampl{ing} Republicans by 5%, a nifty 9% swing. If the sample was reweighted to more closely follow the 2000 exit poll party ID breakdown of 39% Dem / 35% GOP / 26% Ind, can you imagine what kind of lead Kerry would have?

Dear Gallup,

If you now have Kerry and Bush neck-and-neck in your skewed sample, should we add 4 to Kerry and subtract 5 from Bush to get Kerry winning by around 9%?

Just wondering.

I originally thought this but the repubilcans get out the vote machine is WAY better this time. Ours is better too but theres improved more. So i think we will only have about 2% more voters than them instead of 4%. Doesnt matter though since we still win.
