Any upsets expected in individual states?
Every EV forecast I've seen indicate that certain states are either solidly red or blue. My own state of Georgia is invariably listed as solidly red.

My question is: are there any states that we think will prove the pundits wrong, go the other direction? It's not impossible to envision GA going blue, on the strength of all the new registration and early voting. Any others?

1. Q: How can you "expect" an "upset?"

12. You know what I mean, I'm sure.

Humor me here.

Or don't. I don't care.

Add on edit: Clearly I misjudged grievously by using the word "expected". I should have used "hoped for" or "realistically anticipated".

16. Sure!
Not a criticism, just a bit-o' wacky humor! :silly:
(It's that Packers thing - I'm so high on cheese!)

My predictions (because I'm feeling silly): TEXAS and NORTH CAROLINA!

17. So it's a Packers thing?
After a Packers victory, all the cheddarheads start criticizing each other's English?

What, did Lombardi start that tradition? Go all schoolmarmish on Bart Starr's ass after the Super Bowl?

Much I don't know about the odd ways of Packer backers.

2. AR and TN
The ground game here has been fantastic for Dems, and AR is polling at about even. Long shots, don't get me wrong, but they could be upsets.

8. All I know
Is the polling. I dont have any reaon to be in AR, so I haven't been in a posoition to see any signs of the ground game. In Memphis/Shelby county, there are a ton more K/E signs than Gore signs in 2000, and every event I go to, there is a large K/E contingent working to GOTV and register. If we lose TN, its not for lack of effort.

3. I have this real hope that Kerry can win North Carolina.
I think this is entirely possible.

4. We can hope
but everything is based on turn-out. (and a fair election, but that is harder to control)

9. Just Heard An Interesting Stat About Hawaii...
Some pollster on CNN reported that in 2000, Hawaii was a dead heat race before the election.

On the day of election, Gore won by 18%.

If 2000 is any indication, Hawaii will go BLUE!

11. Surprises
I am keeping my fingers crossed for Arizona ........... lots of new registrations, Tucson is solid Democrat, the big Rez is democrat, and it sure seems there are more and more signs of Kerry support. We do have a democrat for Gov and many of the local GOP are more moderate but still a strong cowboy base. John McCain in not #1 among the GOP "establishment" here ........... hoping!:)

14. Louisiana!
Don't Laugh!! It CAN happen!

Even if Bush does end up taking the state, I can guarantee you that it won't be by the 8 -12 points that have been predicted.

I think the race is very tight. Could be 2-5 points!
