1. She said he's the one who can beat Bush
She's going to stump for him in NH this wknd with something more formal. She's saying good things about all of them- any would be better than Bush.

11. I will always love her Poppy silver foot in his mouth comment!
Seriously!

Maybe this time somebody will be kind of honest and say that Dubya was born with a silver spoon up his nose

14. Hot Diggity-Dog - that is GREAT!
I remember her comments at the convention. I remember her saying "turn out the lights! The party's OVER!!!!" She was MAGNIFICENT. But "silver spoon up his nose" is even better! Good work!!! Either that, or, judging from another DUer's little signature photos, it could also be "silver finger up his nose."

16. My favorite Ann line
"Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did. She just did it backwards and in high heels."

I repeat - this is a classy lady who stood strong for civil rights, and the education of the children of Texas. This is a credible endorsement for Howard Dean, and I offer my congratulations.

BTW, you knew Ginger Rogers was a right wing wing-nut, right?

28. No I sure didn't
But I grew up sitting at my mom's feet, watching Ginger dance across the screen. I certainly hope you don't begrudge me my happy childhood memories b/c of Ginger Rogers supposed political stance.

do you have a source for that assertion?
Gov Richards is a good Democrat and if you have information that she's being bought off, please share the link.

13. No.
But it just occurred to me that Dean has the most money and has been getting the most endorsements. I have a cynical view of politics: Endorsements come from agreements based on the endorsing party's interests (e.g. Teamsters support Gephardt because Gephardt supports Teamsters). I doubt that individual endorsers just endorse candidates because they like them.

If you don't share my view, so be it.

18. I think he's referring to her lucrative lobbying career.
Some candidates have stated that no pol who leaves office can turn around and be a lobbyist. They would have to wait 5 years. Lobbyist pols don't like that proposal.

Conason article from August proves she wasn't PAYING ATTENTION in 2002 when she declared Dec 2002 that Dean was the only one who went after Bush.

Kerry Shows Courage In Challenging Bush
Thursday, August 8, 2002 By: Joe Conason

New York Observer

>>>>>
But it was John Kerry who delivered the most interesting, substantive and challenging message. His subject was George W. Bush's shortcomings as a world leader.
The New York Times reported that Mr. Kerry "offered a long attack on Mr. Bush's foreign policy," although the paper gave short shrift to the details in the Senator''s speech. What he began to articulate was a Democratic critique of this administration''s blunt and myopic unilateralism, and a vision that restores international alliances to the center of American diplomacy.

He agrees with the objective of removing Saddam Hussein, but objected to the vague plans for what will replace the Iraqi dictatorship. He called the latest arms treaty with Russia a "cosmetic" one that inadequately safeguards decommissioned weapons. He denounced the "Cold War" approach to North Korea that has undone the progress achieved by the Clinton administration. He expressed scorn for the administration''s disengagement from the Middle East crisis before Sept. 11.
>>>>>>

He is, however, no naïïve internationalist who abhors military force. As he has done before, Mr. Kerry wondered aloud why the President didn't muster sufficient firepower in Afghanistan to destroy Al Qaeda''s army when the chance arose at Tora Bora.

>>>>>
According to the scientific measurements made by political consultants, Mr. Kerry''s chosen path is marked "dead end." The safer domestic route is crowded with competitors who talk only about corporate responsibility, prescription drugs and Social Security. The boldest among them now criticize the lopsided tax cut that shouldn't have passed last year.

21. Oh, you mean because Dean sided with Bush when Kerry attacked Bush?
Back in July 2002 here's how Dean backed up Bush after being shown clips of Kerry's attacks on Bush's military strategy:

MR. RUSSERT: Do you believe the military operation in Afghanistan has been successful?

GOV. DEAN: Yes, I do, and I support the president in that military operation.

MR. RUSSERT: The battle of Tora Bora was successful?

GOV. DEAN: I’ve seen others criticize the president. I think it’s very easy to second-guess the
commander-in-chief at a time of war. I don’t choose to engage in doing that.

22. Oh, you mean because the media was stifling Kerry throughout 2002
because HIS attacks on Bush were TOO substantial and the media couldn't report them.

If she's as fun and classy in real life as she was there, I'd want her to be more than just my presidential supporter, and I'm only 20. ;)
