We voted this weekend so that makes two votes for Kerry/Edwards. The polling place was incredibly busy. We had voted early in the first two elections that allowed it and never had to wait.
We voted in a ruraly county (Franklin) so I would expect it to be hard to win here but I was very heartened by the fact that when I left the room was filled with black voters. I think that the turnout this time is going to swing in our favor.
Also, I've seen just a huge increase in the numbers of Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers and yard signs. I know this isn't much but in 2000 it was rare to see a Gore sticker.
I'm feeling better about our chances.
One word of warning if you're voting in North Carolina. The ballot does NOT list party affiliation for judges. I printed off a list of Democratic judiciary candidates before we went so we were prepared. I would suggest you do the same. I didn't want to put a conservative judge in office simply because I was in the dark. Be prepared and take the time to print off the list. You can find it on the NC Democratic party's website. Don't know the address but if I find it I'll edit this message to include it.
