It's going to be nice having a First Couple who can actually drink...
alcohol again! A first couple who can serve and enjoy wine at state dinners. A president who can drink a cocktail at events without the whole world worrying that he's fallen off the wagon and threatening world peace! A First Lady who can have several beers at a barbecue with her family without enraging her in-law matron.

We all know what Drudge was implying a couple of days ago...but I am glad that Theresa was photographed holding a beer. How refreshing, considering the hypocritical prudes who now occupy the White House! And, since 90% of American adults drink, I am sure they agree with me on this. If Rove thought that Theresa drinking a beer would harm her husband's campaign, he just might find that it has backfired.

7. Yes, it will be nice as long as
they don't drink Coors!

2. Absolutely
An image of Democrats as people responsible enough to enjoy a drink with dinner (or, alternately, not to have a drink at all) would be very welcome; it constrasts sharply with the Republicans and their tall, suspicious-smelling glasses of "ginger ale".

3. Guinness is considered to be a healthy beer

Guinness, by golly, truly is good for you

Kevin Hunt
The Hartford Courant

April 05, 2004 5:57 a.m.
A man walks into a bar, orders a 12-ounce bottle of Corona Extra. Another man walks in, orders a 12-ounce Guinness draft.

The two men turn to each other, raise their glasses and say, "Here's to your health."

Question: Whose dietary and health interests are better served by the 12-ounce beer?

If the guidelines are less alcohol, fewer calories, fewer carbohydrates and, to top it off, protection against heart attacks, blindness and maybe even impotence, then it's the Guinness drinker, hands down.

No joke.

5. who cares if the president drinks or not?
the only good thing about Bush is he realized he needed help.

Why worry about wether the president drinks? I think this says quite alot.

13. Really? When did he realize that? Yesterday?
That video was made LONG after his supposed redemption.

Bush never got real help. He claimed that God changed his heart.

Many people believe he is still drinking. I am one of them.

6. Beer drinkers for Kerry!
I wonder if this could turn my 87 year old Republican aunt who lives for her daily dose of Miller Lite. Nah.

9. I agree. I'm tired of those snotty prudes in the White House,
It will be nice to have people who enjoy a drink now and then. Most Americans DO drink...it's nice that the First Couple will be just like them. :-)

11. Ironic, when so many say they like Bush because he seems like
someone you could have a beer with (but he is an alcoholic so you really wouldn't-not a pretty sight), then they criticize THK for having a beer.

At least they are consistent.

15. I'm a beer-drinker for Kerry!
It's nice to see people be able to drink responsibly. The Kerry's know how to do that.
