Damn!

He just said THK was right to apologize for not knowing that Pickles ever had a job.

Jeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz!!!

If Pickles didn't have anything to hide, she would have let the GOP dogs loose on THK!

If we don't get some competent pundits, I'm giving up!

Damn!

2. Perhaps he meant, when he said 'right'
that it was politically expedient for her to apologize. She's probably getting advice from Hillary behind the scenes. "Honey, just say you're sorry and keep your head down for a couple of days, it'll blow right over. I'm speaking from experience, here."

3. He's probably still feeling the heat from the time bush personally
attacked him.

It's that encounter at a restaurant (in New York, I think) several years ago, when he and wife, Judy Woodruff, and their grade school-age son were out to dinner. bush was at another table. He'd apparently been drinking, according to accounts I've seen and read. He came swaggering over to their table and got in Al Hunt's face and snarled something to the effect of "I saw what you wrote, you son-of-a-bitch! I'm not gonna forget it!" Hunt had written some critical column about him a bit earlier and his divine girlie-man-ship didn't appreciate it. Threatened him, crudely, in front of his wife, AND their son. Some here have speculated that this is why Judy Woodruff is such an apologist for the republi-CONS and bush in particular, on the air. I think they were just really fiercely intimidated. I can't imagine what that would be like if somebody came at my face like that, when I'm out at dinner in a public restaurant with my kids.

4. Well you have the names right.
But it was l988 in Dallas where Hunt was dining with his wife and 4 year old son. The current edition of Washingtonian magazine featured 16 pundits who predicted Jack Kemp would be the l988 GOP nominee instead of Poppy Bush. Hunt said an obviously drunken Geo. W approached his family's table and began loudly cursing at him in front of his young child. " You fucking son of a bitch," Hunt has quoted Bush as saying. " I saw what you wrote. We're not going to forget this."

This is detailed in " Fortunate Son."
