Bush (R) 50%
Kerry (D) 47%

and say, "I'm gonna win North Carolina".

Make Rove soil himself. Gore States plus North Carolina easily wins.

2. I think Edwards should spend a day or so there and maybe
bring in Kerry for a joint rally prior to the election.

3. Exactly. Bowles could use some help in the Senate.

4. I'm so believing that NC will go blue in 2 weeks.
And we will elect a Dem to take over Edwards' senate seat (Erskine Bowles).

IMHO, Bush/Cheney has lost a LOT of the military vote here. Farenheit 9/11 ran to full houses in both Jackonville NC (Camp LeJeune) and Fayetteville NC (Fort Bragg)--2 cinemas showed it.

8. But it might be smarter in states like that to stay under the radar
If he starts campaigning in states where GOTV gives us a chance the Repugs aren't very conscious of, it'll alert them and bring their base out. There's a strategy to keeping their base asleep and possibly at home, I think.

10. Better to spend this time in OH and Iowa.
If he wins these, he can afford to lose FL, WI and CO.
