My own personal survey
I had to go to the grocery store yesterday. Twice.

On each visit, it took the time to walk all the rows of the parking lot to check out bumper stickers and I was really amazed.

There were two (counting mine) Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers in the lot on each visit (that is, one each visit, there was mine and one other).

There were NO B/C bumper stickers on either visit. NONE!

During the middle of last week, I saw ONE B/C sticker in the lot and so I parked right next to it.

What does this mean? Well, our city traditionally goes repub by a very slim margin although the rest of the county goes Dem by about a 10% margin. My assumption (unscientific) is that the rpeubs are out there but they're not enthusiastic and not terribly motivated.

On yard signs, I think we're about 2-1 over the repubs and proudly, my block looks like a dem stronghold.

Doesn't mean much I suppose except that there are hopeful signs here.

4. Yard signs
In the 2000 election, there were 5 Gore signs in our small city. Yesterday, we counted 65 Kerry/Edwards signs!
