Time For Mary Cheney To Speak

I'm beyond tired on this non-issue, but since the GOOP continues to masterbate over this issue, let's call their bluff.

Someone astutely posted something I had been thinking, and had some greater info/insight into this...that this issue is being driven by Mary Cheney herself. It answers one of my greatest questions quite nicely. Why hasn't Cheney come out and spoken? Even just to say no comment? She's surely not being held hostage in some dark chamber (that's only after the GMA passes).

According to the mock outrage, she's been attacked. I'm not sure if it's because she's a lesbian and doesn't publicly admit it, or that Kerry and Edwards mentioned it or that her parents exploit it for their own advantage. I'm not sure whose pissed off and why, maybe Mary can clear that up.

Is Mary upset that Kerry & Edwards mentioned the word Lesbian to shine a light on her situation? Uh, isn't that what her parents were doing regularly on the campaign trail to play good cop/bad cop on the gay issue...using the red meat of man/woman marriage for 90% of the time and then throwing Mary's name is as "we're really not that homophobic". BULLSHIT! Time to call them all on it.

I think we need to hear from Mary Cheney herself. If she's hurt, let us know what Senators Kerry & Edwards said that was so damaging. Let us know how Elizabeth Edwards comments about her dysfunctional family (my description, not Mrs. Edwards) is so painful. We're very interested in hearing her story and offering compassion and acceptance. She knows the vast majority of Gays & Lesbians are very ardent Kerry supporters and his comments were in acceptance, not in exclusion. If she feels alienated, let us hear why.

Again...let's find out what Mary Cheney has to say. May a Ted Koppel or Keith Obermann or Aaron Brown can look into it for us. They say the truth will set you free.

6. I Wish We Could Focus On Reality

I wish there were no slimeboats fighting a war we lost 35 years ago due to the stupid arrogance being exploited today.

I wish there never was a Gay Marriage Ammendment...an straw man issue that was drawn up by RoveCo. last year to create a wedge in the Democrats and as red meat to the fundies. I wouldn't be surprised if this desperation move (which it is) was in the Rove playbook months ago and they think Kerry fell into the "trap". Yes, I wish it would go away!

My son just turned 17 last Monday, when I was his age, the U.S. was bombing Haiphong harbor and I was expecting the draft was in my future. I lucked out, but not by much and remember the angst of my teen years knowing that whatever future I was planning could be totally destroyed by a taxpayer financed 6 month vacation to Vietnam. I saw what it had done to others.

The outrage is the two stories that were posted here linking the mutiny by the soldiers in Baghdad and the crash of that helicopter. Where's the media. C'mon Tucker you asshole! Stewart had it sooooooo right. I can't wait for my son to finish the Stewart book...I might just have to kick his ass and take it.
