The perfect scandal to help Kerry: James Baker special envoy
While Mr. Baker is representing the United States asking the world to forgive Iraq's debts, he is also an officer of the Carlyle Group, while it negotiates a deal with Kuwait where it will make sure Iraq pays all of its debts to Kuwait. Under this proposed deal, Carlyle will use its influence in high places (Baker) to aid Kuwait in getting its money back. If the deal goes through as planned, Carlyle will receive a $1 billion investment from Kuwait.

Talk about corrupt influence peddling and conflict of interest! Why don't the Democrats use this to cut Baker's throat just in time for the November elections? It will make a wonderful scandal and give Bush a black eye just when he doesn't need it.

2. Because what you just said can't be distilled into a 10 second
message. Really, think about it......Bush repeats single words or simple phrases endlessly. 'War on Terror', 'terror', 'terrorists', 'bringing peace', 'taxcuts', 'liberals are tax and spenders', '9/11 changed everything'.......that's all 40MM Americans want to hear. I think it's political Soma.

But anyone who bothers to understand the machinations of the BFEE fully understand the depths of corruptness we face in this administration.

3. Exactly right
And it just doesn't have that "kill terrorists, cut taxes and praise God and George Bush" zing to it. Dumb fucking republicans.

7. Baker Is The Epitome of the Corrupting Influence of Money!
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 05:12 AM by zinsky
Baker has been involved, in one way or another, with the biggest scandals of the last 30 years - the "October Surprise" of 1980, Iran-Contra, Iraqgate, the stolen 2000 election, Carlyle Group, etc. In a more just era, he would have been led to the gallows a long time ago...

8. He is evil incarnate.
His presence confirms the existence of something far larger. And I wouldn't be surprised to discover that his loyalties are not grounded in this country alone as a true patriot should.
