"Mistakes"

Opening Scene - a suburban Battleground State home, with the front door in the foreground; in the background we see "Mom" doing something productive.

"George" a 7-8 year old boy runs to the front door, carrying a ball and bat (could be wearing a Texas Rangers shirt, but that might be cruel)
.

George: "Mom, I finished my homework; can I go out to play?"

Mom: "Did you check it for mistakes?"

George (quickly): Oh, I didn't make any mistakes!

Mom: George, go back and check your homework.

George (whiny, with facial expressions) "But Mom...I worked on it real hard!"

Mom (firmly): George, go back and check your homework right now!"

George (defeatedly): Aww, Mom!

George drops his ball and bat and trudges offscreen

Scene 2 - Black sceen with white text repeating dialogue

Announcer: When your child makes a mistake, you can correct it.....when the President makes a mistake, you can't"

Scene 3 - footage of Bush making confident -- and incorrect -- statements. As each statement is made, a newspaper headline appears refuting the assertion

President Bush (at SOTU Address): "Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

President Bush (at White House Interview): "We found the Weapons of Mass Destruction"

President Bush (on USS Abraham Lincoln): "Major combat operations have ended"

Screen goes black and immediately returns to film of Bush at Press Conference

Reporter: What would your biggest mistake be?"

Bush: "I'm sure something will pop into my head here in the midst of this press conference, with all the pressure of trying to come up with an answer, but it hasn't yet"

Screen goes black and immediately returns to film of Bush at Presidential debate

Linda Grabel: "Please give three instances in which you came to realize you had made a wrong decision"

Bush: "I made some mistakes in appointing people, but I'm not going to name them. I don't want to hurt their feelings on national TV."

Screen goes black and immediately returns to film of Bush at Bill O'Reilly interview

O'Reilly: The "mission accomplished" statement in May 2003, if you had to do it all over again, would you have done it?

Bush: "Absolutely"

Fade to black bacground and White text
