I'm pretty new to the DU scene and it's good to see that not everyone is totally enthralled about Kerry and can laugh about it. I am starting to appreciate Kerry more and more, but until recently I was all about ABB and couldn't really stand Kerry either.

are supporting Kerry in this election, not implying that they're ignorant. I know Kerry's history, I have read almost every word of his platform. I am not disrespecting him by poking fun at him. He is not my ideal candidate. In a lot of ways he isn't even close. Frankly, if this election weren't so dire I probably wouldn't be voting for him, let alone supporting him verbally and with yard signs to my neighbors and co-workers.
I personally need to balance out the gravity of this election with some humor.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking the "he looks French" bull shit of the right, and turning it into something positive - "why NOT the long face" is a clever way to do it in my opinion.

The right says that Kerry looks French? Here's a sticker making fun of that: "Why NOT the long face?" Which I love. The right says that Kerry is a Flip-Flopper? Hey! He'll Flip-Flop for YOU! There is another one on the site that says "Better to Flip Flop than just FLOP!" which again is an obvious slam on right wing talking points. The right makes fun of the nuances comment? "Hey, they're STRONG nuances!"

I am so sick and fucking tired of this bullshit where some people have to have a fucking bullshit answer for every little fucking thing. It's just some fucking levity. There ARE A LOT OF FUCKING PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE KERRY AND ARE VOTING FOR HIM ANYWAY. GET USE TO IT. WITHOUT THEM BUSH WILL BE RE-ELECTED. PERIOD. If Kerry wins, it will be hands down because of the massive and MAJORITY anybody but bush sentiment out there. So start learning to deal with it.

with an Enron/Halliburton sticker. You know the one -- looks like a B/C sticker but has Enron/Halliburton instead. They also had John Kerry bumper sticker and underneath the "John Kerry" they had white lettering that said "sucks less." OK, so the pickup owner sees the scam with Enron and Halliburton and isn't 100% in the Kerry camp but is behind him enough to go to the trouble of getting a sticker, adding his comment, and, I assume, will cast his vote for him on Nov. 2. As long as Kerry gets the vote I'm OK with it.

Even so, I'm ever so proud of my "Cheeseheads for Kerry" button. Wish I'd had it for the game I saw at Lambert Field a week ago, when Favre got his concussion.

We Cheesehead Dems are a forgiving bunch I find (re: Lambert vs Lambeau). Hey, at least Kerry got the Lombardi quote right.

Both Dems and Repubs were handing out stickers before the Giants/Packers game, with the more vocal presence being the Bushies, whom I was told had signs and such. I was happy to see many Kerry stickers in the stands. The sticker count during the game was about 8 Bush to 6 Kerry, with one drunk guy pointing at my button and saying "Kerry! Right on! Shtay shtrong!"

I also saw a NYFD guy there, and had to give him props. I hope he understood why. I wasn't terribly articulate "Hey NYFD guy! Props, man! Props!" I was havig a 9/11 moment and had to say SOMETHING.

And, at least in my case, I feel my right to choose has been subverted by our bipartisan, electoral system. I am not doing the subverting. I only wish I had that kind of power. I voted for a third party candidate in 2000. I got shit on for that by so-called progressives. I promised myself at the time that I would continue to vote for the person who best represents me.

I changed my mind this time because I can't stand seeing more people die and go hungry and be sick in our own country and the rest of the world.

That is why I think it will always be hard for Dems to dominate the political scene the way Repugs do. We actually DO bring skills of critical analysis and thought to analyzing our own candidates and often times won't vote for them. 93% of Repugs are voting for Bush and you want to tell me there aren't a whole bunch saying "this guy is full of shit?" I'll always remember my grand-dad saying "I'll vote for the a dead horse over a democrat." Most repugs feel that way. It's a hard mentality to beat.
