Post Peak Oil
frank frankly posted this last night and I thought it should get more "exposure" than Janet's breast.

We should be pressing all the candidates to address this issue....I think it frames the Bush administrations actions of the past 3 years, but more importantly, we need to ask what the hell we, as a country, is going to do to about it.

To me, the problem begets a solution to the growing unemployment problems of America....we should be investing big time in alternative energy solutions that require a transformation of the infrastructure and our cultural attitudes regarding transportation, etc.

This is THE issue that a national debate must be had on.

Republicans (Bush) want a PNAC military solution that fights for the last drop of oil, but doesn't want us to question/understand the policy. Democrats should show that we can offer a progressive solution that promotes a real future for America and the world.

But 1st, we have to acknowledge that this is the coming reality.

than won me over to my candidate: his vision of developing alternatives to our foreign dependence on oil without destroying ANWR.

We have to get serious about conservation and new sources.

4. Truer by the day......
What if.........

Bush had used 9/11 to cut our oil ties and use the Treasury to develop a whole new domestic energy policy based on renewable/alternative energy?

But then, Bush can never be anything but a front man for Big Oil. Precisely the wrong administration for this time.

5. absolutely
Absolutey agree with you on this.We should be investing 50-100 bilion a year on alternative sources. And BIG OIL won't do business with Arab nationalists.

yes this issue should be pushed on our representatives, but don't expect any miracles.
