Michael Berg Changes His Story About Nick and Moussaoui.

In May 2004, after his son Nick was decapitated in Iraq, Michael Berg told a very strange story to CNN to account for the fact that Nick’s University of Oklahoma computer password had come into the possession of Al Qaeda member Zacarias Moussaoui, who spent six months in Norman in 2001. In 2005 Moussaoui pled guilty to all six counts of an indictment charging him with terrorism.

The elder Berg said that while his son Nick was an OU student in Norman, he was taking a bus ride one day, and he allowed a stranger sitting next to him to borrow his laptop computer to send an email. In this encounter the stranger acquired Nick’s password. According to Berg the stranger turned out to be an associate of Moussaoui, although Nick did not know that at the time. Moussaoui was able to come into possession of Nick’s password because of this. Here is the CNN story:

Recently Michael Berg told a different story to The News Journal of Delaware. Berg, who is currently seeking the Green Party’s nomination for Congress, was interviewed by Ryan Cormier. Relying on information from Berg, Cormier wrote:

"Nick had previously been questioned by the FBI. When he was in college in Oklahoma in 1999, someone used his computer to send an email to Zacarias Moussaoui..."

Here's another quote from the CNN story:

"Michael Berg said the FBI investigated the matter more than a year ago. He stressed that his son was in no way connected to the terrorists who captured and killed him."

There's only ONE problem, the FBI has never investigated Nick Berg.

Bizarre Connection Between Moussaoui and Future Beheading Victim
Nick Berg is an American who will unfortunately become famous for being beheaded on video in Iraq in 2004. It will later come out that he had a curious connection to Zacarias Moussaoui. In the autumn of 1999, Berg is a university student in Norman, Oklahoma, where Moussaoui would attend flight school in early 2001. According to Berg's father, one day Berg is riding a bus to his classes and he meets Moussaoui on the bus. Moussaoui asks him for his password so he can use Berg's laptop to check the Internet. Berg gives him his password. FBI investigators later discover Moussaoui's use of this password, and interview Berg about it in 2002. Berg is cleared of any criminal connection with Moussaoui. Jayna Davis, a former NBC reporter known for her theories on the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, calls the explanation as to why Moussaoui had Berg's password “totally nonsensical.” She notes the low odds of anyone being able to log onto the Internet on a bus in 1999 and says, “You're sitting on a bus. It's a five- to ten-minute ride. How in the world would a stranger sitting next to you say, ‘Hey, can I borrow your laptop computer because I want to log on to your e-mail?’” She also notes that the FBI insists Berg gave his password to an acquaintance of Moussaoui, while Berg's family insists it was Moussaoui himself on the bus. (CBS News, 5/21/04; Newsmax, 5/18/04) The London Times notes that this associate “is believed to have been Hussein al-Attas,” Moussaoui's roommate when he is arrested in Minnesota in August 2001. The Times also notes that Berg's “past links to an al-Qaeda terrorist have raised questions in some quarters as to whether he might even have been working for the intelligence services.” (London Times, 5/23/04)

Speaking of Moussaoui oddities, here's another one I just discovered. It seems that when it comes to 9/11, there's no end to things that make a person go "hmmm."

August 10-11, 2001
Moussaoui Moves to Minnesota; Apartment Vandalized
Zacarias Moussaoui moves from Oklahoma to Minnesota, in order to attend flight school training there. Moussaoui drives there with Hussein al-Attas, a friend who will stay with him in Minnesota. Curiously, on August 11, someone breaks into the Norman, Oklahoma, apartment that remained unoccupied since Moussaoui moved out of it at the end of May 2001. A neighbor's bicycle is used to break through the door of the vacant apartment and a bloodstain is left on the wall.
