Citing bin Laden's privacy, FBI seeks to withhold documents:

WASHINGTON April 23: The U.S. government is withholding documents from the public, citing terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden's right to privacy as the reason, according to the watchdog group Judicial Watch. The Washington-based group, which fights government corruption and secrecy, has requested documents on whether and to what extent the U.S. government allowed family members of the al-Qaeda terrorist network leader to leave the United States after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request, which allows U.S. citizens to demand documents from the federal government. But the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fought the group, causing Judicial Watch to go to court. In some of the documents the group has received since then, Judicial Watch said the FBI has invoked privacy-right protections on behalf of bin Laden.
