1/15 was an "inside job"!
I certainly hope that no one is buying the official government story that USAir flight # 1549 crashed because of a flock of geese. I mean, how coincidental is that? At the least it was LIHOP and, more likely MIHOP. In fact, I think all the footage of the crash scene has been faked and that there was, in fact, NO USAIR Flight 1549. Instead, what we saw was a hologram hitting the water AFTER thermite was used to bring down a missile that was headed for Ottawa. The passengers are obviously actors and the perps certainly planted a plane carcass just underneath the surface of the river, probably earlier in the year when the Hudson was temporarily "closed for repairs".

Remember where you heard it first. I predict that the Bush administration will use 1/15 as a pretext to 1) invade New Jersey after they have linked Jon Corzine to the crash 2) suspend the inauguration, declare "marshal law" and declare himself POTUS for life and 3) hire Blackwater/Halliburton and the Carlysle Group to "rebuild" the area. That is, after they put most of us in prison camps!

5. It's to prepare us for their next evil plot
Everyone knows accidents never, ever happen. For example, small lanes don't crash themselves. Well, there were those two seperate Cessna crashes in California last week, though they din't have anyone famous on board, but they were really just to soften us up for the idea that planes fall out of the sky at random.

As big a pain in the ass as you are, sometimes we have to put aside our differences. poke fun at ourselves, and have a good laugh and feel good together when something great, like Flight 1549 and Sully's professionalism and talent, happens.

14. This is how I feel
To my mind the the issue is one of gross incompetence (and possible subsequent efforts to cover that up) than of deliberate plotting. Many of the theories floated about 9/11 are so bizarre (no planes, or weapons operating outside the known laws of physics) that they undermine the very real case for investigating institutional and administrative failures.

41. nothing is impossible
only improbable. I think people (whoever that means) need to realize that truth is a helluva lot stranger then fiction, and as soon as you can emotionally break that barrier, you will always be stuck in the 'deny first and ask questions later' mindset. (and yes i know 911 has nothing to do with being open to other possibilities)

18. Those were actually the passengers from flight #93, finally released after years of brainwashing
and the plane was flown remotely from the White House.

All those passengers only think they are who they are, but in reality, they are not.

And all those ferry captains and passengers who helped? NSA and CIA agents, who are all in on the conspiracy, who were really there to quietly question each "passenger" and make sure that their brainwashing still held, with the command to "accidentally" fail to rescue anyone whose real memory came back.

And then later, I hear that the black box was cut out of the airplane with that same military heat laser thing that was used to cut down the World Trade Center towers.

Edited on Fri Jan-16-09 08:25 PM by jberryhill
They weren't completely thawed out before the submarine/plane was released to float up from beneath the surface of the Hudson.

Look at how obvious this is:

http://www.abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=6662703&page=1

The rescue began when Capt. Vince Lombardi of a New York Waterway ferry noticed something odd in the water.

"I turned to my deckhand, and I said, that's an odd-looking boat. He said, 'I think that's an airplane,'" Lombardi said.

Moments later, Lombardi nosed his ferry close to the plane.

Vince Lombardi has been dead for years.

But notice - he didn't see the plane land. It just "appeared" in the water.

And with no engines...

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/01/16/national/main4726683.shtml?source=mostpop_story

(CBS/AP) Federal investigators say both engines on the US Airways jetliner that made an emergency landing in the Hudson River are missing.

Never in history has a plane been ditched in the Hudson river the same day a president was to give his farewell address.

37. "A passenger told Reuters ..."
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 10:29 AM by William Seger
".... there was what sounded like an explosion a few minutes after takeoff."

Exploding geese? How does a fatty goose with downy feathers destroy a jet engine with parts made out of titanium? Those engines produce a hundred thousand pounds of thrust; how does a 10 pound goose bring it down? Were the laws of physics suspended in Manhattan on 1/15?

"The engine blew. There was fire everywhere and it smelled like gas," Jeff Kolodjay, from Norwalk, Connecticut, told Reuters on a midtown Manhattan quay. "People were bleeding all over. We hit the water pretty hard. It was scary."

People were "bleeding all over" before the plane hit the water?

I'm just asking questions.

Let's see: A) Nobody died; B) That pic doesn't look much like Bush; C) it wouldn't make much sense even if it did (Cheney would have been a better fit; D) even if it looked Cheney, it wouldn't be relevant to the thread unless you possibly think Cheney was remote-controlling those geese.

The only relevance I can see is that the OP was making fun of how conspiracy theorists think.

... but the way the Joker kept pulling off one highly implausible dirty deed after another -- apparently having limitless resources and access and a (literally) incredible knack for having complicated plots go exactly as planned -- got to be kind of a joke. A little more plausibility would have improved that movie immensely, IMHO. Ditto 9/11 conspiracy theories.

71. Frankly I think they have a humor deficient.
They seem to be a pretty miserable lot most of the time.

"humor deficient"...either way, I agree.

Oh, wait...President Obama apparently believes the OCT.

80. The OCT desperately want to plant their flag in Obama (as if that somehow ends the debate)
Of course you had to use the word "apparently" because neither of us really knows what he actually believes. BTW, I know it's big fun to tar all who don't swallow the official fish tale (hook, line, and sinker) as part of "the truth movement", but I honestly don't belong to any movement of any kind. Just because I'm not buying what they're selling, doesn't mean you're justified in lumping me in with whatever band of miscreants you concoct.

82. Please define the "OCT"....
then convince me that the hundreds or thousands of sources it is drawn from are trying to "sell" something. Face it, the "truth movement" has been dealt a death blow now that Bush has left office and President Obama has made repeated references to the terrorists that attacked us on 9/11. I somehow doubt that he believes in Directed Energy Beams or that the towers were brought down by "controlled demolition" or other "truther" nonsense.

You guys can pack it in, no need to hang around this stinking hole now that you've been vindicated beyond all doubt.

Bye bye...

I see a pattern here with you guys lately, a rather simplistic effort to portray CTers en mass as dismayed that Obama won't champion their cause. Of course that concept is a figment of your stilted imaginations. I can't speak for others, but I believe the truth will come from the bottom up, not the top down. Like the recent NSA whistle blower who waited until Bush officially left office before spilling the beans. Only time will tell if similar revelations will emerge regarding government complicity in 911...

90. I was Just Asking Questions.
Thanks for the clarification, but you might benefit from realizing that this forum is at the DU. Your speculation about my motive to portray CTers as dismayed that Obama isn't on their side is incorrect. It's more like they aren't on his side, I think.
