Boy carrying 5 bombs detained
A 15-year-old Palestinian boy carrying five pipe bombs was detained by IDF forces at the Hawara roadblock south of the West Bank town of Nablus.

The boy, identified as Hassan Hashash, was obviously sent by someone and terrified, a soldier involved in the incident told Ynet.

“You could see it’s a young child who was sent (by someone.) I looked into his eyes, he was on the brink of tears and scared to death,” said Muli, a paratrooper whose full name cannot be revealed for security reasons.

“The boy pulled out a matchbox, held up a pipe bomb, and attempted to detonate it,” Muli said. “We aimed our weapons at him and told him to move away from us.”

2. OK. When are people going to stop thinking that it's good
to kill their kids? This is nuts. Aren't we supposed to be working to sustain LIFE? In the end, who CARES where a line on the map happens to end up? Is another bomb going to make peace?

And meanwhile, that poor child - and his victims - would have been sacrificed for NOTHING.

You know what, this is one of those days when a person could start feeling VERY DISCOURAGED.

6. It would be a start. Obviously. What concerns me, the
people who are always commenting on wrongful Israeli actions, or Israeli insecurity in general, are absolutely silent on bombs, missiles, the whole terrorist presence and the culture of war. And I haven't heard a whole lot about that Hizbollah reconnaisance drone that flew over Israeli airspace - a potentially really dumb and certainly, a provocative thing to do.

Indeed, the whole ugly business with checkpoints, with the wall, with roadblocks - everything that is hurting the Palestinian people, comes from the presence of terrorists.

Yet, Israel is characterized as an apartheid state.

Those who want the Palestinian people to live in peace and freedom, as we do, must see that intermingled with them are people who work AGAINST peace and freedom, and seek to hold them to account - if, indeed, it is possible to talk to them at all!

At least in Israel, the army and the police have announced publicly they will disarm intransigent settlers, and so forth, in order to facilitate withdrawal from Gaza, and it is a matter of public debate. And there has been no shortage of criticism, inside and outside of Israel, for heavy-handed and overly violent policies.

Maybe these jobs will help. I hope so.
