"The publisher and CEO of the Jerusalem Post, Thomas Rose, was fired Wednesday night by the newspaper's owner Hollinger International, following months of turmoil for Israel's first English-language daily.
The decision to fire Rose comes ahead of the expected sale of the newspaper in the coming weeks. It also appears to indicate a dramatic change in the direction of the paper, which in the past decade has had a clearly rightist leaning.
Rose has currently been replaced by Mark Ziman, the paper's chief financial officer, although the appointment is expected to be a temporary one, until a buyer is found for the Post.
In November, Hollinger announced it had uncovered financial inaccuracies and was bringing its audit committee into a special probe of the company."
