Mohammad Barakeh: never again fascism and Nazism
Mohammad Barakeh: never again fascism and Nazism

About two months after returning from a memorial ceremony at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, Knesset Member Mohammad Barakeh and chairman of Hadash – the Democratic Front Peace and Equality – Communist Party of Israel for stressed Monday (April, 12) that the values of the Holocaust must be taught both in Jews and Arab schools.

A window overlooking piles of children's shoes are the strongest memory MK Barakeh was left with after the trip. "Naturally, the entire visit was emotional, but the windows with piles of children's shoes was the most difficult point," he told on Israeli Holocaust Day. "Every shoe is beyond any fascist and any Nazi and that is the place I have been carrying every since."

According to MK Barakeh, the lesson of the Holocaust must be learned. "The lesson of never again racism, fascism, oppression and persecution are universal values which must be learned everywhere, and the Holocaust is one of the strongest of them". The leading Communist Party of Israel member added, however, that he had traveled to Auschwitz because it was important for him to take part in the international Holocaust Day events and in not the "Zionist schmaltz of the March of the Living".

"I don't feel any connection to the commercialization of Holocaust Day and the attempt to commercialize it for Zionist purposes. For me, whoever links the establishment of the State of Israel to the Holocaust links the Holocaust to the Palestinian people's Nakba (catastrophe). Our mission in 2010 is to be loyal to the values of 'fascism and Nazism never again' and end the Palestinian people's tragedy."

2. Thank God we never did it
We opened our countries for Jewish for centuries when they were being executed in inquisition in Europe. Read about one of the most important Arab Jewish Philosopher Ibn Maimoon
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maimonides

Now we are concerned with allowing the Palestinians to have their right and refusing occupation + doing FAIR peace in this area for all.

Jews were also massacred in aleppo in the 14th century by the armies of muslim Tamerlane.

I could go on and on and on with more examples, but I trust you get that point.

I said we as a nation and culture, there were bad kings like this king and many of them killed Jews, Christians, and Muslims but were Jewish a national target or something like that?? like I said NEVER. And the reason is not a book that I read 3 years ago or an article that I saw on a museums or to defend, no I am saying that cause Actions speak more than words and WHAT HAPPENED is that Jews RAN from Spain WITH Arabs in THOUSANDS. Why would they do that if they were so hateful towards them??. How will you feel if someone says US is anti Semite cause Henry Ford took a medal from Hitler and wrote a clear anti Jewish book http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_International_Jew when US opened their country for Jewish refugees to be full American citizens which is their right like every one else.

But I also want to clarify something I think you don't get it I have nothing to do with Andalus(The Islamic KingdomS in Spain) and I consider it an occupation that happily ended and I was talking about the people not kingdoms but whatever. And who told you I am Muslim? I may be Christian I only said I am an Egyptian girl.

About the examples you want to inform me about, I say SAVE YOUR TIME, they tried to do that before and they failed to prove Arabs were Anti Jewish and for every example they gave there were THOUSANDS of other examples for their good life and especially in relation to how were they treated in Europe. And especially if we are talking about the area before 1948 and modern history in general.

And to be more clear, in my country and our area I am against the religious country and I condemn all what happened and still happening to religious minorities and to women here but I am not also a fool to share in the unfair hysteria of considering Arabs Anti Jewish and putting them with Nazis and racists when compared to them you can say that they were living a good life. Compared to the now standards of human rights of course it was not good by any means but to go from this point and try to put our names with this dirty work of nazi racism and social darwinism killing of the inferior, and then use this against Palestinians and every country here is a dirty political propaganda and has nothing to do with talking honestly about history. Thats why I become so mad and aggressive each time any one talks about the holocaust and what happened to Jews IN EUROPE like it is something we were part of by any means. We just want an occupation to end, why do you want us to discuss something we have no relation to each time we just say end the occupation and make fair peace? The Nazi regime is finished but there are people now who are suffering from occupation.

Any way Sorry for the long reply and sorry if by any means this annoyed you I am going to sleep and I hate to annoy any one before sleeping. God bless you forever.

5. Mr Barakeh has spoken the truth, and spoken it eloquently
The Holocaust must be taught in both school systems. Equally, it must be taught that the Holocaust does not justify current policies of the Israeli government, since Palestinians are not Nazis.
