Police foil terror attack at Haifa shopping center

Police sappers neutralized several explosive devices in the parking lot outside Haifa's Lev Hamifratz shopping mall Saturday evening.

Police evacuated the mall following the discovery of the devices, causing heavy traffic delays in the area.

A little known Israeli Arab organization known as the Galilee freedom brigade claimed responsibility for the attempted attack. No one was hurt.

The devices found contained dozens of kilograms of explosives, police sources said, and could have caused extensive damage and loss of life had they been detonated.
