Israeli warplanes have carried out another strike on the Gaza Strip after Tel Aviv and Hamas separately announced ceasefire in the region.

The attack which came on Tuesday evening caused no casualties, the Israeli daily Jerusalem Post reported.

The report claimed the warplanes targeted a rocket launcher in the region. No one has confirmed it yet.

Israel has still kept its ground forces in the densely populated region despite the truce.

Operation Cast Lead which launched on December 27, allegedly aimed at destroying Hamas's power to fire rockets at Israeli towns.

The military attack however ended after three-weeks with Hamas capable of firing rockets into Israel until the last day of the war .

The 22-day onslaught claimed at least 1,300 Palestinian lives and wounded over 6000 another across the strip. A large number of the victims were civilians.

2. There you go again
with your Iranian propaganda "news"rag.

Once again, wash, rinse, repeat, here is an accurate report of the situation

Palestinian terrorists fired eight mortar shells from the central Gaza Strip Tuesday, the army said. However, it appears all shells landed in Palestinian areas, possibly due to a malfunction.

In one case, the Air Force spotted a mortar near a refugee camp and targeted it.

...snip...

The IDF said that the mortar attacks constitute a violation of the Gaza ceasefire and that the army will convey an unequivocal message to Hamas that such attacks are unacceptable and would not be disregarded.

...snip...
Defense officials said that Hamas was undermining humanitarian efforts in the Strip by firing mortar shells at goods crossings. The sources added that in some cases trucks carrying humanitarian aid were looted.

Earlier Tuesday, Palestinians fired at an IDF force traveling along the Gaza Strip fence. A short while later, Palestinians fired at other forces in the central Gaza Strip.

However I don't expect you to get confused by facts.

RI laments Israel's late cease-fire

http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2009/01/19/ri-laments-israel039s-late-ceasefire.html

Ary Hermawan , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 01/19/2009 6:00 PM | World

Indonesia on Sunday welcomed the Israeli unilateral cease-fire but expressed regret the decision was made after more than 1,000 Palestinians, including women and children, had died in the bloody conflict.

"We regret it took so long to happen," presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal said, adding that it would be better if there were an international monitoring mission in the war zone to guarantee the sustainability of the cease-fire.

He said that Indonesia demanded the total withdrawal of Israeli troops from the battered Gaza Strip and lifting of the blockade to ensure humanitarian aid could reach the helpless Palestinians.

Israel announced the end of its offensive on Saturday, but said its troops would remain in Gaza with orders to return fire if attacked. Hamas also announced a weeklong cease-fire. (SEE, CAN YOU READ THIS???)

Noted Muslim scholar Azyumardi Azra from Jakarta's State Islamic University said Israel's unilateral cease-fire was fragile and not to be seen as a significant development, although he admitted it would help ease the humanitarian crisis there.

4. Six mortars were shot
and there was gunfire at soldiers at the crossings (bringing Palestinian aid, typical STUPID move).

Israel has said they will fire back on all rockets and mortars.

I hope they do for every one, as that is the only deterrant.

6. IAF bombs Gaza target after 8 mortar shells fired at Israel
By Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent

The Israel Air Force on Tuesday evening bombed a target in the Gaza Strip used earlier in the day Palestinian militants to fire eight mortar shells at Israel.

Militants on Tuesday also opened fire at Israel Defense Forces soldiers in Gaza in two separate incidents, in the first violation of a shaky cease-fire in the coastal strip that ended Israel's 3-week offensive against Hamas.

No IDF soldiers were wounded in the incidents, one of which took place near the Kissufim border crossing, and the other in the center of the Strip. In one of the incidents the troops returned fire.

Also Tuesday, Gaza militants in the Gaza Strip fired a mortar shell toward Israel, the IDF said. But police reported that it looked like the projectile never reached Israel.
