http://www.thebostonchannel.com/r/26880439/detail.html

BOSTON -- Police investigated a shooting Tuesday night that injured a man who they said attempted to rob a store in Mattapan before he was shot by the store's owner.

Boston police said the man, who was in his 40s, entered a store called Essential Body Herbs at 1282 Blue Hill Ave. just after 7 p.m. and attempted to rob the clerk while armed with a hammer.

1. Let me be the first to award this story one point. Savor it.

3. Doesn't your 'point thing' seem a little crass to you?
Just a little?

6. Remember that my 'point thing' it is intended to bolster your side of the argument.
No points are awarded when guns are responding to guns.

11. Your "point thing" is intended to bolster your own argument.
And your underlying implication that if we just forcibly disarmed innocent people, then criminals would magically no longer have arms either.

2. What a terribly inaccurate headline. (I know, not your fault.)
Should have read "Store Clerk Shoots Man In Prevented Robbery".

Nothing "botched" about it, he just underestimated the resistance.

12. Or it could have been personal.
I.e. a disgruntled ex-employee, or possibly just someone who wasn't entirely balanced. Or it was viewed as a "soft target" by the guy. Or perhaps the place does a brisk, high-end business and has thousands of dollars in cash sitting around in the register. *Shrug*

13. Hey, supplements are a multi-billion dollar industry
Though I admit I don't know how many customers would typically pay cash.
