The 1994 Feinstein law banned zero semiautomatic rifles. None. Zilch. Nada. It just required that new rifles with protruding handgrips had to have smooth muzzles, and similar BS.

Also, rifle crime has stayed pretty stable as a percentage of total murders (~3%) for the past quarter-century. Rifles aren't a significant crime problem in the United States and never have been.

This is very effective propaganda -- combining fear with some common sense truths -- that is hard to defend against. We spend a lot of time 'undoing' this by education, instead of staying on our message. We need to turn that train around. Find the key statistics and just repeat them.
