from an emailed press release...For those of you who have not yet heard, here is an
urgent call for support for the Auburn 3.
On Friday the 13th, 2006 three community activists
were arrested in Auburn California by the FBI. This
represents the latest in government actions against
environmental activists under the pretense of the "war
on terror."
Based on initial reports, the FBI is accusing the
community activists of plotting to commit arson.
Arrested were 20-year-old Zachary Jenson of Monroe,
Washington, 20-year-old Lauren Weiner of Philadelphia
and 28-year-old Eric Taylor McDavid of Foresthill,
California. All have dedicated their lives to working
for social justice.
The newly created website,
http://www.Auburn3.org, is a
grassroots effort to free the activists and send a
clear message to the FBI that this form of
intimidation and repression against activists or
anyone else will not be tolerated.
We are calling for solidarity and support for those
arrested. You can call the FBI's Sacramento Field
Office at (916) 481-9110 to demand that all charges
against the Auburn 3 be dropped and that they be
released immediately.
We have been notified that the arraignment is
scheduled for Tuesday the 17th. We invite you to show
up to show your support, details on location will come
later. They are being held in Sacramento, California,
so if any of you have connections out there local
support would be greatly appreciated!
In addition, we are currently coordinating fundraising
efforts for legal support for those arrested. Please
stay tuned to
http://www.auburn3.org for more information on
getting funds to those who need it; in the meantime,
efforts to spread the word and raise funds would be
greatly appreciated.
You can send an email with more questions regarding
the situation and how to help and support, or with any
resources or information you may be able to provide
us. email:
