Electric buses
Listen to the difference when the Diesel bus takes off, then later in the video the electric bus takes off. Beautiful.

1. I was riding electric buses fifty years ago..
They were great, quick acceleration, clean and quiet.

2. We had those in the UK when I was a kid back in the fifties

Entire floor pan was occupied by 4 volt lead acid accumulator batteries with the charging and maybe power boost too provided by the overhead cables. To change direction the hooks were transferred onto another set of cables using long poles.

They were completely silent. Memories of another day. :)
