Mitsubishi and Areva nuclear cooperation put on hold until further notice...

The two companies currently have a business tie-up in nuclear power generation.

Mitsubishi originally aimed to acquire a stake of about 3 percent of capital in the French company.

1. Those words have a special meaning to me
'unclear outlook' that is. I'll be really happy when those words are replaced with clear outlook. Nuclear was never ready for the long run when they started and the only reason to begin with was to procure the ingredients for making a shitpot full of bombs which we did. We're dismantling those bombs now so there is no need to continue on this very dangerous path the MIC and the nuclear power industry has taken us down.

3. I think this story reflects...
...a strong distaste among the Japanese public for the entire nuclear industry. Judging by recent events at the commemoration of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, they don't want Japan to sell nuclear power any more than they would want to be responsible for selling nuclear weapons. They aren't blind to the link between spreading civilian nuclear power and the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
