3. Good question.
Mind you, if they actually follow-through on the words, wouldn't it
be a painful slap in the face to certain other presidents who haven't
even got the guts to say the words yet?

5. Actually I find his statements rather incredible, ...
even if he can't deliver any real change to the political status quo.

In a political structure that has so tightly controlled free speech, and dogmatically decided what is correct political dialog, these statements are a 180 degree shift from past statements and actions. If The prime minister of China comes to this realization pronounces his reservations of present policy, is there yet some hope for the science denial of conservative right politicians in the US. I don't think one should hope.

6. Excellent point. Let's hear the wingnuts deny that a clean environment
is too costly a price for their unbridled greed and quest for a few pennies more in profit.
