The greatest threat to the biosphere, to all life on earth is...
nuclear weapons. Why do so many other countries want some of their own? I think it has something to do with the fact that we have more than enough to kill almost all life on this planet with some left over. That pisses me off.

We now have a policy of first preemptive use. Totally different from our policy for the last half century.

8. the bombs in WWII were partially preemptive
to prevent any further casualties (stop the war cold) on either side by inflicting massive casualties. but yes, now it's about shock and awe without provocation as justification
