"The Greens have staged a super-cool publicity stunt by unveiling an ice sculpture of Tony Blair's head. "Tony Blair is melting away before your eyes - just like the polar ice caps," spokesman Darren Johnson told reporters on Westminster's College Green.
He said Mr Blair's credibility had "melted" on climate change just like it had over the war in Iraq. The party said it planned to take the sculpture to Brighton to watch it melt in the sea.
Mr Johnson urged people to "vote for what you believe in" rather than casting a protest vote against the big parties. "A vote for the Liberal Democrats is only saying you don't like Tony Blair and you don't like Michael Howard. "It is not saying anything positive about what you really want."
Green Euro MP and principal speaker Caroline Lucas said it was "common knowledge" Mr Blair had lied over Iraq, but she accused Mr Blair of perpetrating similar lies on the environment."
