'Time to ditch climate policies' (BBC)
By Roger Harrabin
Environment analyst, BBC News

An international group of academics is urging world leaders to abandon their current policies on climate change.

The authors of How to Get Climate Policy Back on Course say the strategy based on overall emissions cuts has failed and will continue to fail.

They want G8 nations and emerging economies to focus on an approach based on improving energy efficiency and decarbonising energy supply.

Critics of the report's recommendations say they are a dangerous diversion.

The report is published by the London School of Economics' (LSE) Mackinder Programme and the University of Oxford's Institute for Science, Innovation & Society.

2. Why can't we do all three?
Reduce carbon emissions for those who still use it, improve efficiency for all forms of energy consumption and also phase out carbon?

5. Well, compared to outright famine and dieoff it's not so bad...
Whether you think a glass is half-full or half-empty depends on whether you're comparing it to a full glass or an empty one...

6. lol! trust me, you'll always be FREE
Rich first-worlders will always be FREE :) Free to screw our future up the butt until it's a trashy mess our grandkids are watching die. This is one thing I know for sure, so sleep soundly knowing you'll always be eating factory farmed meat that's taken acres of land and tons of oil to produce :fistbump: Sleep tight because I'm in the .07% of humans who'd go to such personal extremes.
