4. There's a lot of truth in that.
I've been bike commuting for over thirty years. My daily commute is a 15 mile round trip, Oregon weather permitting. During the months I bike to work, my whole attitude improves and my waistline retreats a little. I wonder how many people could bike if they were just willing to accept the few inconveniences that come with it. On the bright side of high gas prices, the car traffic is likely to become less of a hazard.

5. I start tomorrow
If I can remember to pack my clothes tonight. It's 2 miles each way, mainly along a paved path along the river. The worst part will be doing it in New Orleans heat and humidity. (Hence, why I will shower when I get to work.)
