Daily U.S. Casualties

As of Wednesday, 246 U.S. soldiers have died since the beginning of military operations in Iraq, according to military officials.

The British government has reported 43 deaths.

On or since May 1, when President Bush declared that major combat operations in Iraq had ended, 110 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq, according to military figures.

The U.S. Central Command gave no new reports of deaths Wednesday.

The latest identifications released by the Defense Department:


Army Sgt. Nathaniel Hart Jr., 29, Valdosta, Ga.; killed July 28 in Tillil when vehicle went off the road and rolled over; assigned to the 416th Transportation Company, 260th Quartermaster Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.
