I hate Conservatives
Want to know what I think of Conservatism?

Economics

Conservatives believe that the Government should not help the poor. A Government that helps its people is the kind of Government we need. Conservatives say its takeing away freedoms, but it is really giveing more freedoms to those who are very poor. The poor live horrible lives with all the crime and poverty, you cannot raise a family off of minimum wage, and its not always easy to get a job. Its very easy to get yourself killed. Because the poor areas get such bad education, its extremely hard for them to get out of that position, contrary to what Conservatives say. They should not be forced to live like this, the Government should help these poor people. The filthy rich don't use nearly all their money, they can afford a Leftist Government and stay rich. How ever, Conservatives reject any idea that would help out these suffering people. Conservatives believe the poor are just a bunch of lazy bumbs. This is not true, its hard to work your way out of the rat hole. Conservatives don't want the wealthy to pay a dime to help these people. As the poor suffer in life, Conservatives yell out "Communist!" to anyone who speaks out against what we are letting these people go through .

Environment

The Environment is in danger. As industry rapes our Earth of its beauty. Conservatives call anybody who speaks against the destruction of the environment "dumbass environmental hippies". Conservatives don't care that millions of acres of beautiful forests are being chopped down every breath you take. How heartless can people get? They think that extra money for wealthy business is more important than the forests which are home for many animals! Humans should not be given the right to tear down our Environment and murder millions of animals and even cause extinction. We should protect what remains of our planet for our future generations. Conservatives however say otherwise. How heartless can people be, to believe that we should rip our planet and kill animals that get in our way so wealthy industries can get even richer? Its unfortunate that nearly half(if not more) of Americans don't give a rats ass about our Environment, which me and many other Liberals charish.
Forests aren't the only issue however. Conservatives(George W. Bush being more specific) don't want to research renewable and cleaner energy. Oil is limited and mineing it and useing it is slowing destroying our planet. We should use sources of energy that are more abuntant(sp?). Conservatives however don't care about better sources of energy and they continue to purchase tanking SUVs that guzzle up gas like a monster.

Social Views

Conservatives can be very heartless when it comes to these views. Many Conservatives believe that homosexuals, minorities, and sometimes even women, are inferior beings of life. That is clearly speaking out Nazism. People should be treated equally. White Male Christians should not get special and better treatment than everybody else. Homosexuals should not be prevented from getting married because they are people to and should be treated fairly. Many Conservatives however think Homosexuals are evil. Homophobia is just like Racism. I don't know if I gave this Paragraph that correct title but oh well....

Intolerance

Cosnervatives are often intolerant of other ethnics and beliefs. Conservatives spew out tons of hate towards people who have different views than they do. Conservatives call Liberals "Worthless Communists!" http://www.avoiceofone.com/mt/archives/000026.html . Conservatives say Liberals are the most undereducated people in the world, even though Liberals are clearly the more educated. Conservatives are arrogant and act like they are soooo smart, even thought they are usually just a bunch of mindless sheep. Conservatives say Liberals are immature and need to grow up. However its Conservatives who act like children. We Liberals are the more mature. Most Conservatives are just so stuck-up and hateful its sickens me. http://www.sovietinvasionplan.com/archives/000493.html
Why don't Conservatives leave and start their own Christian based Capitalist country somewhere else and leave us alone. I hate having hear and read shit Conservatives keep saying, they are a bunch of mindless hateful idiots who are more annoying than bugs can even dream of being!

4. the hardcore at least
Though the more mainstream(the moderate ones at least) do have a tinge of some of the extremes that you mention(it is part of the tradition of which they partake no matter how progressive or reformed they become).

p.s. 'conservatives'(at least the current dominant neo-con version) do have harsh economic views. Still, not all conservatives(especially traditionalists) worship at the feet of the free market. But as the current GOP illustrates, the neo-cons(and they are supposed to be more socially progressive!) do have the upper hand in leading and defining the conservative movement.

7. conservatives
neo-conserv. I don't think it really matters because in the long run as long as a person has a Repub label they will vote for them. In the case of A-R-N-O-L-D this is highly shown. Those who are really of integrity look at the issues and not the label and are willing to vote on the issues.

5. On the economic side...
The wealthy use their wealth and power to crush the poor. They corrupt the government to fix the game. Just look at the way the top one tenth of one percent have benefited from the Bush junta. So I feel no need to defend the masses for their lack of wealth. Look at the legal and illegal immigrants who work harder and longer than anyone else in Dunkin Donuts or cutting lawns or doing other types of grunt work. If honest hard labor were the key to wealth they'd be driving Rolls Royces, but they end up with nothing. They live stacked five deep in wretched rentals that are owned by assholes living in million dollar homes with electrically heated towel bars.

The years after World War Two were an anomaly in the history of this country. The average Joe had a decent standard of living and benefits that were great. Now, we are slowly sliding back to where things were before FDR. There will be two types of people in this nation: the ultra wealthy and the rest of us. Get used to it.

24. Economics after World War II
Isn't it interesting that when the U.S. returned from the War into the heart of the New Deal, followed by "the Great Society," the classes diverged?

Your analysis is based in incorrect assumptions and false logic.

Government cannot mandate wealth.

6. many years ago
there was once a nation where conservatives and liberals-democrats and republicans- lived in the state of "harmony" where both sides knew just how far they could challenge the others beliefs and actions. of course in the nature of things there were swings to one side to the other but somehow it all balanced itself out. the three pillars of government balanced the nation, why? once upon a time there was a mythical state called "the fourth estate" and when things just seemed to be going wrong they spoke out and the nation was saved from either sides excess. but now the governmemt controls the fourth estate and we are sliding into chaos.
there are conseveratives who do care about what you say they hate, but alas ,they are being pushed aside by the new conservatives that grew up during the reagan years and hit their stride in the 90`s money boom.fueled on by newt-the reformed 60`s hippy-these creatures are just as you described them and their leader is shaun hannity...

8. You are sooo right!
It was disturbing to see with my own eyes the type of person that behaves this way. Call me naive. But I thought I could rationally discuss with conservatives issues on politics and don't EVEN talk about homosexuals with these people! They go nuts on you! It was a scary experience indeed...And don't try to change their minds. They are like monolithic stones!

This is the scary site I went to

10. This is one of the best comments ever!
If there is any single overiding cause to America's decline in the world, it is a reliance on the system of capitalism, and that reliance is imposed on us by the right-wing conservatives who control this country's corporations.

It is inconceivable to me that the recently resigned in disgraced chairman of the NY stock exchange was making more than 1,000 times the annual salary of their lowest paid employees.

Somehow, we have to get this country to consider alternative forms of taking care of people. Capitalism just isn't working, and the situation will only get worse in the future.

I believe that Dennis Kucinich as our President can offer us the best opportunity to scrap this antiquated and unfair system.

Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 09:53 AM by Homer12
I agree with you on many of your points about how conservatism has been twisted and deformed into a intolerant people-idea hating country club.

Do you mean you hate conservatism (the ideology), or all the people whom are conservatives?

I'm not very religious, but in the least we should not "Hate, the people", otherwise we will be twisting OUR ideologies (left, liberal, progressive, etc..) into a form that is no better than what the Right's conservative ideology has become now: A twisted intolerant awlays on the attack, let the ends-justify-the-means ideology and agenda.

If we became like this, we would have learned nothing from THEIR mistakes.

15. Frankestein Monster Says
Edited on Mon Oct-06-03 11:28 AM by Homer12
Side One: Governemnt and Democrats Bad!!!
Side Two: Less Government and Republicans Good!!!

Why don't you try using some evidence to back up your argument. At least the orginal poster did: Agree with them or not?

For example: Does freedom from government just mean less taxes, while the Patriot Act can strip your rights away without probable cause?

It's not only the amount of government that regulates, but also the qaulity nof government as well.

Sure we have a larger government now, some of which was helped by Liberman and his stupid Dept. of Homeland Security and with the help of El Bushco have made the government Big Brother bigger (Patriot Act I remind you) and more intrusive in our lives.

Sorry, but under Bill Clinton, government was less intrusive as it is today. Agree or disagree with the Patriot Act it is true. It is reality.

Just becuase a government is smaller, Will not automaticaly mean it is better and will allow more freedom.
Show me some examples of this: A counter example is look at the hundreds of smaller governments around the world, that have litte power over the means-of-production, and little if no enforcment of laws.

17. But why do "they" beleive that?
The problem isn't the conservatives that go to he polls and vote on election day. Most of them are hard working tax paying Americans that want what is best for this country... however, what they think is best is usually in error.

The reason they are in error... is because the conservative pundits, and talking heads of television have deliberatly set out to make these people ignorant on the issues.

Not many people hold a PhD in ecology or envirionmental sciences. So when it comes to the envirionment it's easy for people like Rush Limbaugh to write in his silly ass book that Methane from volcanoes is what is causing global warming. The problem is that most Americans will hear that and it will make sence to them... Rush is right. Now, when some professor of envirionmental science or the atmosphere comes along and starts talking about the chemical structure of Ozone and freon from refrigerators most Americans furrow their brow in confusion. Rush has never taken a class on the envirionment and neither has most Americans, Rush knows this and exploits that, cause he's a dick.

Of course they think homosexuals are evil. Televangelists and right wing conservative christian organization like Meddelsome Women of America run around telling them that gay people are going to destroy marriage and steal children away in the night. Jerry Falwell told us all that gay people are to blame for sept 11!

They hate liberals? Ann Coulter wrote a book about how democrats and liberals are all a bunch of traitors. Most Americans don't have a nexis account so they can go and look up the out of context stuff she sites. They just read what she slops down, see a reference next to it and assume it as true.

Same thing for economics, abortion (ask someone that opposes partial birth abortion if they know what hydrocephalis is, chances are they don't), the war in Iraq, race relations, education, the election process.

The problem is not conservatives, it's the jackasses that lie and mislead them. Are they evil? probably not, are they stupid, probably not, are they ignorant? Hell Yes.

19. Why hate
Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 10:21 PM by rusk2003
all hate will do is destory the person who is hateing. I do not like some people I get mad at some people but hate is some thing I do not really have. Sometimes I feel a little bit sorry for conservatives and wonder how they can sleep at night with all of the hate most of them carry in their heart that surly his making them unhealthy.

I do not think I will ever be able to understand the Conservatives war on the environment or their social views. I know what they view on the two are but never will I be able to understand why. I suppose we Moderates,Democrats and Liberals have far higher intellgance and compassion than they do. :kick:

20. They make you want to bang your head into a wall
I just joined this forum recently and I must say I'm hooked, not like Rush Limbaugh hooked, that boy has a monkey on his back named hypocrasy. Before I replied to any threads I emailed the Big Kahunas of this site and asked a favor. I asked if I could "recruit" fellow liberals in taking our message to a Uber-Conservative website called DocWeasel.com, their forum section. They gave me the go ahead and I thank them for that. Seems while taking a break from their book burnings they delete every liberal post. In fact, todays new war on liberals started off with the moderators of that forum beginning a new tactic. Using my name to post fictitious replies. Sort of like soldiers sending letters to the editor they neither wrote or signed. I say we give them more than a few to delete. Join me in taking the TRUTH to www.Docweasel.com the forum section under political animal.

I thank you for the support and I'm sure the world will thank you.

21. Re-Focus
I see you have some kudos, but some of these things are a little over-the-top.

You know, no one will ever change the hearts of others by labeling them and putting them in a box. Do we like it when conservatives do it to us? So, we do it back. What has been accomplished but to build the wall even higher?

I've never had anyone convince me by calling me names or acting as though they knew my positions just because of my political affiliations. Really, while it may feel good to blow off steam, it does nothing to further your beliefs. You're preaching to the choir.

Our Party needs to give people a reason to vote for us, not just "We're not like the other guys" mentality. If we've learned anything it is that those methods don't work. It's going to take individuals talking to their neighbors and friends about their conditions, about what concerns them, about the community. It's the things we see everyday that effect our decisions.

People are naturally scared of too much government. They are afraid of the people losing control. We need to address that.

People are concerned about the environment, but they don't want to lose their jobs over it. We need to address that.

People generally treat others nicely, but there are concerns that special interests of the few will override the desire of the many. We need to address that.

I know many believe these things have already been address. If we had done so adequately, we wouldn't be in the condition we are now.

Name-calling and labels won't work on either side. We need to change our MO if we expect for others to listen.

These things take a full effort by all involved. Anything that can be used to derail efforts will be implemented, that's true on both sides, but that's politics. A boxer wins a fight by giving his opponent fewer opportunities for the KO punch than he gets to deliver the KO punch. We leave ourselves open for ridicule, and that's exactly what we'll get. We must learn to play the game smarter.

22. Dems get killed
on the environment in many states I think. I know in Wichita (KS) last year there was a big 2 day story about environmental laws and how they affect small business owners. They had a great write up of this woman who had opened a small business in her home and thrived for 2 years. She then moved to a new development that was opening up because she had been so successful. She, of course, signed a lease. Then, the development was halted because a ground squirrel or something or other was found in a field down the street. She was trapped in this half finished development with like 2 other shops and terrible access because all construction had to stop while they found a natural place for this rodent to live. People were pissed. This woman was losing the business she had spent years building because a squirrel might lose its bedroom. Maybe in CA or OR people would scream for the squirrel, but the basic reaction here was "Give me my gun and I'll take of the rodent for you myself."
