Will Coleman concede? "Hell no," says RNC head
By BOB VON STERNBERG, Star Tribune
Last update: May 11, 2009 - 2:10 PM

If the state Supreme Court doesn't declare Norm Coleman the winner of Minnesota's vacant U.S. Senate seat, he'll take his case to the U.S. Supreme Court, according to the head of the national Republican Party.

If the court, which hears arguments in the case on June 1, rules in favor of Al Franken, "then it's going to the federal courts," said Michael Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Asked over the weekend if Coleman should concede to Franken if the Democrat is declared the winner, Steele replied, "no, hell no. Whatever the outcome, it's going to get bumped to the next level. This does not end until there's a final ruling that speaks to whether or not those votes that have not been counted should be counted. And Norm Coleman will not, will not jump out of this race before that" ...

1. Norm Coleman is too stupid to understand that
the RNC is using him. He has destroyed his political career in Minnesota.

2. I'm confused, So now the GOP is against State's Rights?
Minnesota no longer has the ability to decide its own elections if the GOP doesn't win?

Thankfully, the USSC will not hear this case.

3. The Dems need to start playing hardball with them
I'm glad that they've decided not to reorganize the committee makeups after Specters flip until Franken is seated, but they should be using a bit more stick... Tell them that if this gets settled in a reasonable time frame (i.e. right fucking now) then we will respect tradition and base committee assignments proportiionally assigned to each party, but if it drags on, then we will reassess that methodology (i.e. we will fuck them so hard that they _might_ get a member on the house subcommittee of cafeteria lunchtrays...)

Of course to do so would require a level of Democratic unity that is practically an oxymoron, but one can wish...

His job, like all repugs, is to stall, block, delay....
they hate America. I'm glad he's not getting paid right now.

5. Sick...and delusional
I remember how the GOP vilified Al Gore because there was the possibility he was the real winner. "GET OVER IT!" was their rallying cry whenever someone mentioned it.

Now we have them holding up the seating of a US senator just because they don't like the outcome of an (honest) election.

They are acting like children, and poorly-behaved children at that.
