Chris Matthews lies again on Imus and the Today show.
Apparently still bitter that his girlfriend Howard Dean got "spanked" by John Kerry, fake liberal Chris Matthews is now trying to help his new girlfriend George Bush. Today on Imus and the Today Show, Matthews made the moronic assertion that John Kerry has had a "bad week" and that the Bush team had scored a "bullseye" with thier critisism of Kerry not supporting our troops. Look I used to be a Marine, and therefore am very sensitive to the issue of our soldiers being supported 100%. Both Bush and his lackey Matthews are LYING about Kerry not supporting our troops. The reason Kerry didn't vote for the 86 Billion Iraq reconstruction bill, is because Bush refused to give an accounting of what that money would go for in Iraq. There was no guaruntee how much of that money would go to our soldiers, nor did Kerry want to support a measure that would add to our massive deficit. Also if the 86 billion was so great for our troops, how come they are still driving around Iraq in under armored Humvee's which are susceptable to IDE's and roadside bombs. Bush cares so much about our troops that he won;t get them the protection they need and therefore we are losing almost 1 soldier a day to roadside bombs. Convieniantly the cowardly (not to mention fat) Chris Matthews failed to mention that on Imus or the Today show.
Matthews has a choice of being a cool Irishman like Mike Barnacle or a disgracefull one like Bill O'Reilly...unfortunately he has chosen the latter.

1. Mike Barnacle is a Clinton-hating turncoat plagiarist hack

he is hardly a cool Irishman. I'm from Boston, and he's been polluting the airwaves here for years.

The People need to vote on the quality of journalism with baseball bats to the heads of these traitors.

3. You should e-mail both Matthews and the Today Show
Let them know how you feel. I always e-mail when I get pissed and it makes me feel a lot better.

Thank you for defending this great land of ours. And you were very eloquent in pointing out what a bush messenger Matthews is. And welcome to DU.

5. I saw that.....I think what Matthews was more saying was....
That this was a specific vote that Kerry made. I took it to be him saying that the other ads were inaccurate, but nuance or not this one is at least accurate about the vote if not the politics behind it so given the simplistic nature of the electorate, it will serve as the most direct hit that bush has scored to date.

I'm not defending Tweety. I loathe him. But I think there is some merit to what he is saying in the the other ads have been busts but this one is at least a direct hit.

7. I agree - Chris saying that lies in ad - via partial truth - worked, but
he could have mentioned the fact that it was partial truth,

that Kerry voted for the 87 billion a bit before the final vote when it was to be paid for via a tax increase on the rich - a concept that lost -

and that Bush sent the Troops into Iraq without body armor, or even armored Humvees.

8. But....
...as is the case with Matthews he forgot to point out the other side
of the issue.

Yes Kerry did vote against the $87 Billion dollar bill, and his fears
have materialized.

Our troops are still driving around in unarmored Humvees, families are still sending body army to their loved ones, and no one has an accounting for where the $87 billion dollars has gone.

So in my opinion there is little merit in what Tweety is saying.

9. as usual...he fawns over the rw propagandists and to those few Dems
to whom he accords a modicum of respect (as shown by not shouting inane questions to prevent them from truthfully answering anything else he asked, thus blackening the sadministration) when he does pretend to agree with them, it's so feeble and lame, very transparent...

10. McCain says Bush can not be trusted
BILL MOYERS: If you can't trust them (The Bush Administration), why can we?

SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN: I don't...I can't answer that, except to say that in 20 years around this town I've never had my word...I've never had people break their word to me in this fashion.

http://www.pbs.org/now/printable/transcript_mccain_print.html

I know it's borderline criminal for some around here to put in a positive word about McCain, but he has a lot of respect from people on both sides of the political spectrum around the country. And when he says "I can't answer that....in 20 years around this town I've never had people break their word to me in this fashion" that will strike home to some people.

It's all about the credibility gap.
